Many news papers use social networks to develop there stories further this also helps them reach a wider and larger audience as in the modern world people want shorter bites of information in places that they would regularly use everyday.Social media uses are the ability to spread information instantly and for it to go viral in seconds.
The newspaper The daily mail has its online version with connections to the comments on their social media sites as well as the share button this allows a person to tell people on their social network about the story. This can be done as this is helpful to here feedback about the way the story is broadcast and the story itself.
The sun have links to facebook and Twitter on every story they post allowing you to see the social media versions of these stories which are often much shorter and easier to read this is useful and can be used on my website and could provide a link to my professional twitter account this can be done by all the writers.
The guardian a broadsheet also have the comments link but do not have that many social media links this may be because their readers do not like these short versions.

Newspaper websites
The sun- tabloid website
The mirror is an simple and basic informative layout although it appears to be simple its hard to find what you need to find instead attracts you to the stories that they particularly want to show. The design is easy and clean for a younger audience because if its crowded they will switch off. The basic sections in the plain easy to read font is simple for all ages this means that the younger can understand. The political bias is more conservative this means they are more accepting of difference and are not as critical. It is simple and appears easy to read although its hard to navigate. The articles are easy to read and understand but are not informative on little details.
The Guardian - broadsheet website
The guardian is more complex with a lot more writing as well as more serious news this is related to the fact its a broadsheet instead of a tabloid the font and colours have also changed instead of basic layout it is more full and crampt this may be for an older more buisness type of person. I would say that the political agenda is untellable in the articles but its is aimed at the older more mature audience compared to the tabloids. It provides articles suited to a wide range of audiences but does often use words that are complex. It is very informative but can sometimes be to long with unneeded information.
The New york times - american broadsheet website
The new york times is simple but can appear to simple , the basic layout is harder to navigate. I think it is appealing to a older more upper class and working class background as the stories are serious and the fact that there is no celeb or human interest stories the newspaper itsself is straight to the point. The basic layout does make it easy to read but is hard to navigate and find what you want. The simplicity and over advertising makes it look under designed this is good when it comes to the stories but is a negative when it comes to the overall look.
El pais - Spanish website
El pais layout is not bright but does pull attention due to its uncommon images , the writing is small this makes me think that the newspaper is a broadsheet for the working class this means an older audience this is shown on the layout as the basic layout is easy to navigate and has more complex stories. The layout does suit the audience as it has catered to the needs of an older audience.. The newspapers layout with basic sections and side bars that demands your attention is easy to view but the navigation is harder and the pages can be to full and is sometimes taken over with images. It does help to display the story but can be to complicated .

Photography: Light colour.
There are four main consideration when using light in photography :
For this image I used the florescent H this has made the image have warm sunlight tones so has an orange tinge.
The florescent h has made the light down directly upon it have really orange tones.
This image is manual it tries to add a realistic tone although this image appears more like the colours that we would see while looking at the image so it has not changed the light.
This is the custom setting it has replaced the light with green and blue tones putting a shallow quite dreary effect on the image. It changes the image to being quite spooky an unnatural so the image is spooky.
- Quality - The clear light of if its muggy or unseeable through the lens.
- Quantity - The amount of light
- direction - The angle in which the light is coming from.
- Colour- The colour can change the mood of a photograph
The white light balance changes the amount of white in the image changing what colour the photograph shows. The colours can give heat and warmth in the image whereas a blue or bright contrast that can appear cold and unnatural giving a different appearance. I took a photo of an everyday object using the different filters such as :
- Auto - This means the camera is set automatically with its colour balance.
- Daylight - This means the camera adds warm orange tones
- Cloudy- camera add warm but cold tones
- Shade - camera add warm tones.
- Tungsten - camera adds warm red tones
- Flash- camera adds warm tones
- Custom- this can be pre feral choice that you can balance the tones yourself.
All of these can change the mood of the photographs just like it has in these photographs:

Photography- rule of thirds
The rule of thirds is based on a composition of a photo this means that the photo will be arranged so that the elements in the shot look interesting and balanced. The rule of thirds grid is alike a naughts and crosses grid on the image the points being where the strongest focal point and the lines them self also the second strongest. The rule of thirds is used to place interesting point of your shot allowing the basic composition for a photo while staying balanced. It often allows someone to know the background of an image understanding the story giving the image the impact it needs. These are my images of third:
This image displays the sign while still showing why it was there. This sign could be used for safety around he college and would be used for a story around this . This image for is to show how the college tries to make sure the students stay safe . The rules of third mean that the sign is on one of the lines. The images context of roads and cars are shown by the road in the background while to sign still being the main feature so is placed in the fore ground.
This images uses the rule of third by placing the sign on a cross of the lines it is an another image that sign is there for the reason although the photo is not high quality. This image would be used to show how the college tries to make the college safer. The rule of third has added context to the image as the hallway and wet patch that is displayed fully explaining the story.
This image show that the college and litter which relates to my story "keeping the college litter free".This image conforms to the rule of thirds as the coke can is lined with the corner of the naughts and crosses grid and displays the college and litter together. The image has a higher impact due to the first sight being the coke can the college is seen and the cars show the amount of people around the college.
This image is again to display the story about litter around college the picture of a small bin in the hallway showing that there are many around to use even if they are so small. This image follows the rule of thirds as the bin and the lockers meet with the grid this allows depth to the image and with this image it about the size and this compares the bin size to others around it.

Creating a webpage with IWEB Digital communications
This is the webpage I created with the simple Iweb the easy drag and drop system has allowed me to add images and the basic template gave me an idea on what to place in the spaces. It also has links to my other pages an twitter account with a personal bio and image,
I started a main blog page by selecting add page and this will create an index for all posts and blogs to appear on I have also mentioned my online blogs giving them examples of my work in an other link to my communication.
This is just a basic written blog review showing how the colours flow through all of my page with links to all.
Adding widgets and youtube clips, they are easy to add it is as simple as grabbing and dropping the chosen widget into its place it will ask for the url and then import the video to create a more captivating page.

digital communications : journalists webpage analysis
This journalists website is minimilist and simple with basic tabs that lead on to the information needed he has added the links needed so that navigation around the sit as well as an image of himself allowing you to know the face this is seen as more trustworthy. The plain black and white layout make it look sophisticated and professional the image carries this vibe through although it does show him in a casual way so he does not appear to serious.
The journalist Josephine Moulds has made her website a portfolio for the stories she has done this by displaying the areas that she has wrote within and the newspapers they were with in. The website is colourful but still professional and only helps the reader understand the differences. There is also a short paragraph about the journalist herself with the professional photo the website stands out due to its look as it displays all that is needed for someone who is looking for her written work.

DCP : Digital communication protocols
HTTP : HTTP means hyper text transfer protocol this is used by the world wide web to find out how a web page is formatted and transmitted so that the right browsers and and servers are needed to carry out the commands to display the page. HTTP is known as a stateless command this mean that it has been done independently without knowledge off command that become before it. An example in how the command happens is when you insert your URL it will send the HTTP command to web server then allowing you to see the web page itself.
Wap : The wap is an another protocol the acronym itself means wireless application protocol this is sent to allow user to access information instantly through handheld devices such as phones and tablets. wap finds sources using micro browsers to open the web page it is used every time you open the Internet on a smart phone.
GSM: global system for mobiles is used to transmit radio signals using tdma to allow multiple on one radio frequency. It allows to call or text from one phone to an other by transmitting the message through a radio wave. it send the digital information for a phone call.
3G: 3G is short for 3rd generation of telecommunication technology. The system increases phone Internet bandwidth supplying the Internet to many phones at any place and at any time.
4G : 4G is just like 3G id stands for 4th generation it also improves the internet bandwidth for phones and other portable devices. 4g also enables IP-based voice, data and streaming multimedia at higher speeds. it is also used as wireless technology.
mms: multi media messaging service is a store or forward method of transmitting graphics, images video, sound and short text messages over wireless networks using the wap protocol. This is used on phones to send email and texts directly to the phone.
GPRS: General pocket radio service is another feature specified for phones, it is a a standard wireless communications which supports a wide range of bandwidths it is particularly suited for sending and receiving small bursts of data such as emails or web browsing as well as large volumes of data.
Bluetooth: blue tooth is short ranged radio technology aimed at simplifying sending communications between two phones . it also aims to simplify data sending between two devices. Bluetooth is used by many devices it is used in wireless printers, phones and computers.
ADSL: adsl is short for asymmetric digital subscriber line it is a type of dsl broadband communications technology used for connecting to the Internet. ADSL allows more data to be sent over copper telephone lines . It is often used when making phone calls over a distance.
broadband: broadband means is used to describe a type of data transmission in which a single medium can carry several channels at once. most communications between computers use broadband . it used mostly when you communicate across the internet.
VOIP: voice over internet protocol this is when you use devices such as skype to talk over the web. It is carried out as the software and hardware enables people to talk over the internet by sending voice data in packets using ip rather than by traditional circuit transmissions. It does not cost as much as an normal amount of cost cost. There are many apps that allow you to use this service such as cool talk and net meeting .
